This theatrical production is an initiative by CieBaroda Company featuring Modibu Konaté, a young dancer and actor from Bamako, Mali.
Adapted from an essential work, published in French by Bibook, “Vie de Frederick Douglass, Esclave Américain”(Memoirs of Slave, of Frederick Douglass), Modibu Konaté’s performance will bring on stage the childhood and adolescence of Douglass, an American born into slavery in the 19th century and his journey of how he manages to find ways of reconstructing his denied humanity.
