The Alliance française du Bengale supported by Institut Français India, The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata and the British Council, Kolkata, in collaboration with the Kolkata based art gallery CIMA, along with Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal are organizing the third inter-disciplinary Indo – European Residency Project Kolkata.
The residency takes place in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and in Santiniketan, West Bengal, India and lasts eight weeks (seven weeks in Kolkata and one week in Santiniketan).
The residency welcomes four representatives for the respective participating countries (France, Germany, United Kingdom and India) who reside together through the course of the project. The participants learn and exchange knowledge and cultural values and interests through their works of interest and doing so, interact with the local artists, organisations, etc in West Bengal.
The aim of this residency project is to create and exhibit the works from their fields of interests that has been collectively inspired and motivated from the state as well their past experiences and knowledge. The cultural amalgamation of different places connected by the participating artists help in creating new art and cultural spaces that entice people to come together for such exchanges.
