Mahabharata : The Ballet, is a contemporary representation where it comes alive in the perfect blend of music, fashion and dance. In the performance, the characters come alive as a blend of dance movements with tradition designer Baluchari fabric and jewelry from Bishnupur as a part of the choreography. The performance will be a unique presentation through audio visual interpretation of the episodes of Kach Debjani, Karna Kunti, Draupadi, Shakuntala, Gandhari, Brihannala and Hirimba. Seven change agents from the epic shall portray the strength, vigour, leadership, rights, freedom, emancipation and empowerment through dance, drama and enriched music. The characters will be draped in traditional Baluchori fabric, a treasure from beautiful Bishunupur, a living heritage. The weavings and designs of the Baluchori silk textiles has evolved over the past 500 years with pictures of the great epic weaved on pure silk.
