- The concept
On Thursday, 19 March 2015, on the eve of the Spring Equinox, we are celebrating the first edition of the great global gastronomical event, “Goût de France / Good France”. The idea is simple: over 1,300 chefs across 5 continents will dish up, at the same time, a menu featuring gourmet French cuisine.
This initiative – launched by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, H.E. Mr Laurent Fabius, under the aegis of celebrated chef Alain Ducasse – aims, over the space of a dinner, to salute the excellence of French cuisine, its innovative skills, and the values that it conveys: bringing people together over a shared meal, the pleasure of taste, and the balance between human beings and the products of nature. This international event also comes in the wake of “Gastronomic Meal of the French” being inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List, and will contribute to promoting French cuisine throughout the world.

The restaurants around the world, from top gastronomy to quality bistro, appear on the site
www.goodfrance.com, from 4 November 2014, offering a menu valuing the French gastronomy: a cuisine made of fresh, seasonal and local products.
An international selection committee of chefs, chaired by Alain Ducasse, has validated the list of participating chefs, assessing the coherence and quality of the menus offered by the restaurants registered in their respective geographical areas.
India is among the top five participating countries. 48 restaurants across India have been chosen by the Selection Committee of international chefs headed by Chef Alain Ducasse, making this a must-attend international culinary event. Gourmet diners can pick their preferred ambience as they will be spoiled for choice: bistro, coffee bar, contemporary or haute cuisine restaurants.
