Near Death Experience is a 2014 French drama film directed, produced and written by Benoit Delepine and Gustave Kervern. It was selected to be screened in the Horizons section of the 71st Venice International Film Festival.
Synopsis: Paul, a married father who drinks and smokes too much and is almost mute, thought his life was going to spend quietly. A little life he accepted. He who did not like the notion of friendship even laughed at jokes of his colleagues in the call center where he worked. But on a Friday the 13th, when he watched a chronicle of TV news show, he then realized the futility of his existence. Straddling on his bike, he is determined to make his last journey towards the mountain. Except that nothing goes as planned. The programmed suicide turns into a unique and completely absurd journey of life.
