Tagore: A Musical Conversation

French flautist Gilles de Talhouët and students of Alliance Française du Bengale present a dialogue between music and poetry in a sweet and mystic setting. Tagore is well known all over the world. His poems are full of mysticism where love between man and woman carries a lot of significance- sometimes melancholic, sometimes sad, sometimes happy and joyful.
A universe as such has inspired lots of composers and musicians from the West, notably because Tagore’s words have a high musical sense. For the same reason, we bring you this conversation, where musical notes of the flute will illuminate the poems of the famous Bengali poet.
This event will be hosted in the presence of our invited Chief Guest Mr. Damien Syed, Honorable Consul General of France in Kolkata and Guest of Honor Mr. Chinmoy Guha, French scholar and academician.

Gilles de Talhouët  has studied the flute with the great artist Roger Bourdin. He has completed his musical training with Pierre-Yes Artaud and has started to work the baroque flute at the National music Academy in Paris and at the Royal Music Academy in Den Hagen (Nederlands).
Gilles de Talhouët has performed in several concerts as a soloist and with colleagues in an ensemble. He has been supported by the Beracasa and Menuhin Foundations. He also has been a member of the famous contemporary music sessions in Darmstadt (Germany) alongside several important composers and has been awarded by the Kranichstein Musik Preis.
