Alliance Française du Bengale in association with Salt Lake City Prayasam proudly present the screening of Doshkotha Anthology on June 18, 2024, from 5:00 pm onwards at the premises (57A Park Street, Park Mansions, Gate-3, Flat-15, Kolkata- 700016).
It is a universal reality that women are often put into boxes by society based on their exterior appearances, their accomplishments or seeming lack thereof, or by biased judgements of who they should be rather than who they are. They are expected to play this role that society has thrust upon them, yet they wish to be seen as more than who they are perceived to be, to be able to interact with others as fully rounded human beings as is a given with their male counterparts. Each film raises the following real-life questions about how women maneuver in today’s world under the restraints of who society labels them to be while remaining true to who they are:
The screening will be followed by an interactive session with Manish Chowdhury, Senior Programme Officer at Prayasam and the Chief Editor of Prayasam Visual Basics.
