One of the greatest philosophers of the twentieth century, Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980), widely regarded as the pioneer of French Existentialism, believed that man must cross the pain threshold, break the circuit of futility and gradually define himself.
Dr. Chinmoy Guha, one of India’s leading French scholars, will speak on “Sartre and his Concept of Freedom” at Alliance Française du Bengale, on 29 August 2024.
