For the first time in Kolkata begins a French film cycle in an iconic cinema hall of the city: Basushree Cinema (102, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road, Near Jatin Das Park Metro, Kalighat, Kolkata 700026). Every two weeks, a recent French film in its original version subtitled in English: comedy, detective story, drama, will be shown for free (on presentation of a valid Alliance française membership card or that of one of the local film societies, or an invitation to be collected from the Alliance française du Bengale or the cinema hall itself). An annual screening schedule will be published soon, but be sure to note the first date: Sunday 3 July 2016, the first film of the cycle Toute Première Fois [I kissed a girl], light comedy dealing nonetheless with social and sexual identities will be screened at 11 am: do not miss it, support this endeavour!
Synopsis of “la toute première fois”:Waking up next to a beautiful and charming Swedish woman could be the beginning of a perfect love story. But maybe not for Jérémie, who thought his life was already perfect, and was about to get married—to his boyfriend.
