This presentation provides an in-depth look at how Andrée Karpelès bridged the gap between French and Indian art, bringing the Bengal School to global prominence. Her connection with Rabindranath Tagore and Abanindranath Tagore helped catalyse a cultural renaissance in the early 20th century, central to the rise of modern art in both Europe and India.
Following the presentation, Fabien Chartier, esteemed professor at the University of Rennes, will discuss the dynamic exchanges that fuelled this monumental artistic dialogue.
