In the lead-up to the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21) in December this year, the Embassy of France in India is organizing a monthly seminar named “The Road to Paris: COP21 Dialogues”, taking place across India.

In Kolkata, the Embassy of France is associated with the Alliance française du Bengale and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in Kolkata to organize the second seminar of the series on the theme: “Supporting climate resilient development in India”. This seminar will be held on Thursday 23rd April 2015 at 3.00 pm at the Alliance française du Bengale (Park Mansions, Gate 3 – Flat 15, 57A Park Street, Kolkata 700016).

Organized with think tanks, these seminars aim at gathering fresh ideas and out-of-the-box proposals from Indian stakeholders. These contributions will be compiled in a report, which will be presented to the French chair of COP21 and also disseminated during the negotiations to help understand Indian vision and expectations.

The session will be inaugurated by M. Fabrice Etienne, Consul General of France in Kolkata, and Ashok Dhar, Director, ORF Kolkata and moderated by Dr. Vikrom Mathur, Senior Research Fellow, ORF. Dr. Nilanjan Gosh, Senior Fellow, ORF Kolkata will deliver the closing remarks.
