Q&A

About Underground Literature

Underground Literature started its inception in 1978 digging the fertile and unexplored soils of Bengali writings and writerism. It has inaugurated an emergent movement in the context of Bengali literature of today. Those who are famous poets and writers belong to the Overground. Underground proudly publishes the write ups of the unknown and the unsung. Since Underground does not believe in any given definition of poetry, when anyone says that he or she has written a poem, Underground accepts the same in all humility. Underground does not believe in anything called standard language for its purpose. Underground does not believe in any given spelling for its purpose. Often it seeks to give a tongue to the claims of the subconscious and unconscious. Conscious mind in this context signifies the overground.
