DELF- DALF
The DELF (diplôme d’études en langue française) and the DALF (diplôme approfondi de langue française) are official and internationally-recognized diplomas issued by the French Ministry of Education. They attest the command of French language. The DELF and DALF certifications correspond to the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of References for Languages.
Anyone who is not a native French national and who would like his French skills to be recognized for personal or professional purposes can take the exams. These diplomas are also recognized by French Universities and Grandes Écoles as meeting French language requirements for entry. Alliance Française du Bengale is one of the 900 approved examination centers for DELF / DALF in 154 countries, including France. AFB is also the only center in Kolkata to offer DELF / DALF exams.
The six levels:
The DELF A1 and A2 for the elementary user validate a basic knowledge of French and an elementary level for daily life.
The DELF B1 and B2 for the independent user confirm a good knowledge of French and the ability to communicate in oral and in writing covering a wide range of topics within the modern French language.
The DALF C1 and C2 for the proficient user validate fluent and spontaneous communication skills at highest level thus include specialized topics, chosen by the candidate himself. Students who have been awarded the DALF C1 or DALF C2 are exempted from language entrance examinations in French Universities and « Grandes Ecoles ».
Exam dates and timings will be announced on month before the DELF / DALF exams.
