Lokenath Bhattacharya is the most translated poet in French since Rabindranath Tagore. Toru Dutt was the first Indian woman to have written a novel in French. This presentation will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover these two forgotten talents through their lives and their respective works. It will also be an occasion to learn more about the links between French and Bengali literature.

Lokenath Bhattacharya est le poète le plus traduit en français depuis Rabindranath Tagore. Toru Dutt est quant à elle toujours la seule Indienne à avoir écrit un roman en français. Bien que remarqués à leur époque, ils sont aujourd’hui quelque peu oubliés du monde littéraire. Cette présentation sera l’occasion de découvrir ou redécouvrir ces deux écrivains talentueux à travers leurs vies et leurs œuvres respectives. Il s’agira également d’en savoir plus sur les liens entre littérature française et bengalie.
