An Evening of French Literature with Chinmoy Guha
Launch of GHUMER DARJA THELE (Signet Press-Ananda Publishers) by the distinguished French scholar Chinmoy Guha, who has been described by Derrida as ‘breathtaking’, Le Clézio as ‘a bridge between our two cultures’, Mrinal Sen as ‘an endless stream of intellect’, and Sunil Gangopadhyay as ‘the pride of our time’. This new book has scintillating pieces of poetic prose, notably on Montaigne, Victor Hugo, Pascal, Voltaire, Baudelaire, Proust, Sartre, Prévert, Camus, Toru Dutt, Guillevic, Mallarmé, Nathalie Sarraute, Claude Simon, Marguerite Duras, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Henri Michaux and Paul Eluard. Chinmoy Guha will read and recite texts from unexplored spaces in French literature.
